Our Invitations
For our invitations, we designed custom envelopes in a vibrant combo of pinks, greens, yellows, and golds to pull together our wedding suite. We created two custom versions of the main invitation, one for Tania's family and one for Gaurav's family. The back of the insert featured our logo (more on that later!), and two quotes on love near and near to both of us.
Special Touches
To honor my Bengali heritage, we created a custom Bengali insert for my guests, featuring classic Bengali wedding invitation language taken from my parents' wedding card all the way back in 1985. My brother Trinish helped us transcribe the wording from my parents' card. We rounded out of the inserts with classic Bengali wedding symbols (betel & mango leaves), a cute Bengali bride and groom, and of course, tons of marigolds.
Our Program
Our wedding program coordinated perfectly with our jewel-toned ceremony decorations, which featured a plethora of flowers, banana leaves, and classic South Asian diyas, or lamps. We adapted the classic Hindu ceremony to include several key Bengali and Marwari rituals to honor both of our families, and customized the language to reflect our interpretations of each ritual.
Our Welcome Signs
Our welcome and bar signs were designed with an almost identical color palette, with a textured pinkish-red background that was our take on the auspicious red color that many South Asian cultures use to symbolize weddings and other happy occasions.
We loved highlighting our logo on these signs, which came from a friend saying how Gaurav and Tania or G&T sounds like gin and tonic (which coincidentally, is one of our favorite drinks!). So of course, our signature drink had to be a gin and tonic with an Indian twist, and adapting our logo into the gin-and-tonic logo tied everything together perfectly.
Our Thank You Cards
Our thank you cards were accompanied glass vials filled with marigold, zinnia and cosmos seeds that I've been saving from my garden in 2020. It felt like the perfect favor - personal, sustainable, and on-theme, and something that guests can enjoy for years to come in their own gardens!
